The south-west region was the first phase in the Public Lighting Energy Efficiency Project (PLEEP) to get underway.
Led by Cork County Council, PLEEP South-west will upgrade 77,162 public lights across Cork County, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford.
Following a competitive tender process, the works contract for the South-west Region was signed between Cork County Council and Le Chéile Consortium in January 2022.
The contractor has now completed the establishment and set up of the project office and all key project team members have mobilised and transferred to project office.
The contractor has commenced development and hand over of critical contract documentation for review and acceptance.
The contractor has commenced surveying and condition rating of the Public Lighting assets, with approximately 6,500 lights surveyed and conditioned rated to date.
